Week 2

This week we begun shooting. Working in a large group it was hard to assign roles, making sure everyone got a fair job within the process of making our video.  To assure everyone got a chance to play a part in almost every role involved we decided that everyone would perform and everyone would have the chance to direct, film, produce and edit. We all agreed to stick to this decision. We firstly shot lip syncing shots due to the little preparation they needed.

Later on in the week we began to film the more complicated shot, after taking a couple lessons to plan them. This took a lot longer than expected as we had to choreograph dances. If I was to do this task again I would defiantly take a lesson to practice the dances so the next lesson we could smoothly film.

Production Diary

Week 1

To begin our A2 year in media we were first given an introduction and insight into what our coursework would consist of. We went through step by step what would be involved in creating our final piece and were given a tick sheet to help follow our progress independently. To begin our work in our A2 year we were given a task; this was to create a remake of the Britney Spears video, "Hit Me Baby One More Time". This would be our 'Preliminary Task' for this year and would benefit us by helping us understand how a music video works and what goes into creating just a short part of one.

We began this task by being split into two groups, consisting of 6/7 people in each. To begin the remake each group member took thirty seconds of the music video each and noted what shots would need to be taken, what lyrics went with each shot and what movement was involved in the shot. We also noted down any camera and editing techniques that would need to be added afterwards.
